MC’s cheat is immortality. He’s super calm, low-key, and totally fine with long-term plans. Has common sense too, which is rare for this genre.
The cultivation system is actually pretty firm—most geniuses can only beat opponents one level above. MC is the exception because of his eternal lifespan. He spends a very long time on mastering different techniques, so he ends up being really OP within 2–3 realms.
The pacing early on was amazing. World-building is top-tier, with a nice layer of mystery. You really feel like the world is massive and unknowable—even with eternal life, MC can’t understand it all. That part felt realistic and refreshing.
The progression was really satisfying. MC uses children of luck as a foil to guide his new cultivation path, and I liked how long he takes—like full-on epochs (129,600 years) just to ascend to the immortal worlds. He uses schemes and manipulates entire civilizations into researching the path forward for him. Even the measurements (like light-years) made sense, which is rare.
That said, once he entered the immortal realm, things started to drag. Everything takes an uncountable amount of time, but the planning feels inconsistent. The pacing slowed a lot, and the story started to get tedious.
MC originally had a unique cultivation path and felt strong because of effort and planning. But later it turns more generic—he gets super lucky, makes tons of enemies, and constantly ends up in unnecessary danger. MC no longer feels like a character behind the scenes.
Dropped it around chapter 900. Great start, but it lost its spark.
